CMA uses a Shack-Hartmann wave front sensor to analyze CFRP mirrors. The software allows for digital nulling for aspheric surface analysis. Due to its sensitivity to detect small surface defects, Ronchi testing is also employed to analyze surface irregularities. We also use a WYKO TOPO 3- D surface profiler to measure small-scale surface roughness of CFRP mirrors. Click the images to the right for details on CFRP mirror performance.
